Start with the Impossible. Proceed calmly toward the improbable. No worry, there are at least five exits.

We cry peace and cry peace, and there is no peace. There is no peace because there are no peacemakers. There are no makers of peace because the making of peace is at least as costly as the making of war – at least as exigent, at least as disruptive, at least as liable to bring disgrace and prison and death in its wake.

Faith always starts with oneself. It means an overriding sense of responsibility for the universe, making sure the universe is left in good hands and the belief that things will finally turn out right if we remain faithful.

One is called to live non-violently, even if the change one works for seems impossible.

It’s terrible for me to live in a time where I have nothing to say to human beings except, ‘Stop killing.” There are other beautiful things that I would love to be saying to people.
