Before it is received, It is an offering. After it is received, it requires an offering. One gives oneself. Nothing else will do.

I’ve got a gift, a musical gift, fine. But I want to be a human being, a good human being. I need to always express that to young students. Everybody can have a gift. That’s a gift. But then we have to be good human beings. So that’s what it’s all about.

No one is self-sufficient. And it's not a one-way thing -- the generosity of spirit from one side provokes a response in kind from the other side.

Architecture was my way of expressing my ideals: to be simple, to create a world equal to everyone, to look at people with optimism, that everyone has a gift.

No one has ever become poor by giving.
